Great Plains SPCA

As the most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the KC metro area, Great Plains SPCA (formerly Heartland SPCA) needed a campaign to increase awareness of the organization and bring in new business for their spay and neuter services, a solution to animal overpopulation. Great Plains served more than 8,500 pets in their high-volume surgery clinic last year, and they’re able to serve even more this year, especially if it means bettering the community. Meers joined forces with Ron Berg Photography and Syndicate Studios to design and produce a series of print ads, a commercial and guerilla marketing pieces that focused on the unwanted mannerisms of un-spayed and un-neutered pets. To deliver the message, Meers’ Channel team developed the media plan based on the target audience and counties served in the KC metro area. The campaign hit the market in September 2012 and has already garnered press for its edgy approach to this important subject. Great Plains SPCA staff, board members and key donors are thrilled and excited with the unique and engaging campaign.
