Occasionally, a client poses some very interesting challenges. Such was the case with Wink. Our client, a clinical sexologist, was opening a retail store to provide sex education and products to enhance relationships. The challenge was to create an advertising campaign that clearly communicated the store’s products and mission, yet still had the advertising accepted by major media publications. The communications strategy became “Goods and Guidance, for whatever you call it.” The campaign featured some familiar and some not so familiar visual metaphors to get the point across. If the target audience understood the metaphor, then they got the message. We rolled the dice on this one and anticipated that the right people would get the message. The judges certainly liked it. The campaign won 18 ADDY Awards including Best of Design and Best of Show.
